Realisasi Investasi Industri Kimia, kondisi investasi di Indonesia hingga kuartal ke 2 tahun 2017 masih menampakkan peningkatan, walaupun untuk secondary sektor yang terdiri dari industri manufacturing dengan realisasi investasi terbesar diantara ke tiga sektor mengalami perlambatan. Berdasarkan data BKPM, sampai dengan kuartal kedua tahun 2017 lalu realisasi investasi di Indonesia masih menampakkan peningkatan dengan laju rata-rata 11% per tahun, sehingga pada tahun 2017 diperkirakan telah mencapai Rp. 670,1 triliun. Investasi terbesar adalah secondary sektor yang merupakan sektor industri manufacturing, yang pada tahun 2017 akan mencapai Rp. 290,8. triliun atau sekitar 43% dari total investasi di Indonesia.
Selama lima tahun lalu laju realisasi investasi secondary sektor meningkat 8% per tahun, yaitu dari Rp. 222,5 triliun pada tahun 2013 menjadi Rp. 290,8 triliun pada tahun 2017. Beberapa industri manufacturing yang masuk dalam kelompok industri terbesar di sektor ini yaitu industri makanan, kemudian industri metal, machinery, electronic dan ketiga adalah industri kimia & pharmasi. Industri makanan masih merajai realisasi investasi di Indonesia yang pada tahun 2017 diperkirakan mencapai Rp. 74, 5 triliun, disusul industri metal, machinery mencapai Rp. 65 triliun dan industri kimia & pharmasi sekitar Rp. 46 triliun.
