Indonesian CHEMICAL COMPANIES Directory. 2024,

Based on the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia in 2022, the chemical industry recorded as the third contributor on nonoil/gas process industry namely at 10.5% of Gross Domestic Product (PDB) and expected to grow at 5.5% per year averagely for the five years onward. At the same time, the chemical industry is wished to be able to export at $40 billion or contribute some 12% of Indonesia export totally and employees more than 2 (two) million persons to be a bigger employer in Indonesia.

In the period of 2022-2023, Petrochemical investment indeed has realized at US$300 million by PT Asahimas Chemical dan PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia. Besides that there were some chemical industry projects with big size value investments that didn’t realize yet such as PT Lotte Chemical Indonesia that expected to be realized in 2025 to produce ethylene, propylene and plastic basic materials worth at US$4 billion.

Additional, PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur planned to invest in Soda Ash worth at US$233 million which is expected to start operation on next 2025. Then, the company also plans to invest worth at US$705 million on Coal gasification to produce ammonia in East Kalimantan in 2027. In West Java, there is Pertamina-Polytama Propindo 2 to disburse funds some US$322 million to produce  polypropylene and propylene that is targeted to operate in 2027. Besides that, there are two (2) projects which currently underway, one is methanol industry developed to be Olefin-natural gas based worth at US$ 1 billion. The second is Ammonia-Urea project in Kabupaten Fakfak which is targeted to operate in 2027. Meanwhile, Coal gasification project that is carried out by PT Bukit Asam Tbk. (PTBA) and Pertamina is not realized yet.
